I'm a 25-year-old guy, I live in Venice and I study informatic at the Science of Information University here in my city. I always liked computers alot: my first purchase was in fact a ZX Spectrum when I was thirteen; with it I learned the BASIC language. A couple of years after it's been placed side by side with a Commodore 64 and eventually a Commodore 128; with them I learned how to work directly with assembly and I reached good levels of programming. In 1987 I made the great change and I bought an Amiga 500, immediately expanded to one mega of ram. It was then that I really started to learn assembly to realize short intros, mostly to insert them as introductions of games spreaded by us young folks, and I reached good levels for those times: vectorial rotations, vectorbobs, copper tricks and much more.
After a year I bought also an Amiga 2000, on which I still continue to work and run my BBS, UNIVISION. This poor computer always worked like a mule here in my home, in fact during all these years I still own it, it never stopped for a day; to thank it for his job I decided to insert it in a tower case where it can breathe without problems, even in the summer. Instead of the original 68000 now it works with a nice 68030 and 68882 math coprocessor; I also upgraded the RAM from 5 MB to 13. I changed original drives with two high density Chinon, to read DOS and MAC formats without problems and I changed my first CD-ROM with a 7 Disc Nakamichi drive.
A couple of years ago I replaced my my dear 500 with an Amiga 1200 linked by Parnet with the 2000, where I run games (really few), I compile and assemble, I prepare the images of Cds that I masterize. As a thankings for the works it does in this period I wanted to give it a faster processor, 8MB of Fast Ram and a larger HD: now it could really make his brother (A1200) jealous!
My favorite hobbies are telematic, started as experience with modems and now on Internet, and programming. I like either to create common use programs and utilities (anyway I need them) that you can easily find in Aminet CDs or all around in the public domain, either to code intros and demos in assembly. Actually I am the coder of Eukanuba, a group born little time ago here in Venice.
I am the coordinator of Amiga User Group Venice, its purpose is to help Amiga users that need suggestions for software and hardware problems: where to buy programs or peripherals, where to repair their computers, how to use a certain program and a lot of other problems that annoy the poor computer user. We offer a consultant service by phone or using other means telecommunications, and naturally we lean on Amiga Group Italia which is the national organization that coordinate all local groups. Whoever wants to enter in the group (subscrition is free) or whoever wants to get more informations can send a mail to me.
Personally I prepare italian Catalog translations of famous programs (or programs that I use often! :-) ) and, when I can, installation scripts and documentation too. But I wish to coordinate a translation group to work together to produce an italian handbook for all the most used programs.
I have alot of experience about Unix systems, about Internet and about problems concerning data security. I am developing a packet for safe data transmission through the net with some friends, with the possibility to intercept intrusions and/or violation by other people.
I listen a lot of music, generally modern music such as Techno, Disco and Rave; but I like good groups too: Queen, Pink Floyd, Roxette, Guns'n'Roses and melodic music like Vangelis, J.M. Jarre and Alan Parson Project. My favourite radio stations are Radio DJ and Radio Company.
